I purchased this car in 2006 and the car has only been used in the summer months, it was stored in a garage during the winter months.

The Panther was Waxoled when I purchased it and it has been kept Waxoled over the years that I have owned it.  There is no rust on the chassis and has never been welded or treated for rust.   The paint work has faded slightly but still polishes up well.

The Panther is not the very best example on the road but it has been very well looked after and is an ‘eye catcher’ and it draws much attention wherever I go.

The Panther has a Roll Bar.

I am selling my Panther due to ill health and for no other reason, sadly the car has to go!  I have some spare parts that I’ve collected over the years which includes a Hard Top which needs some attention.  I have five spare wheels that need new tyres and I also have various new parts that I have collected in case they were needed which can be sold with the car if required and can be negotiated.  I have some bills a Handbook and I have spare keys.

The Windscreen has a small ‘chip’ but not an MOT failure.  The car is registered as Historic, therefore it is MOT and Tax Exempt.

I took this car in against the sale of my Blue and White DeVille, and since owning the car as you will see explained below, I have done a great deal to make the car perfect

The car was well looked after when I got it, and always garaged

These cars are brilliant fun, pretty quick, handles like a go kart, and goes round bends superbly.

There is a great and very active Panther Car Club, fantastic members, who organise so many events through the year, both in the UK and overseas

I am the press secretary for the club, and whoever buys this great car, please join the club if you are not a member already, as I have found it is the best and most friendly car club I have ever belonged too

Why I am selling this car, well I have too many cars, and have decided to trim down my collection

The car is a 1989 2.8 Carburettor Panther Kallista in totally original non modified condition

51000 miles from new

The car is in superb condition, after having £5500 spent on the car within the past 4 months

This has included £3500 at TR Enterprises for mechanical work, £1500 on the paint work, and £500 on new carpets, seats re-colour with a small invisible repair, and ancillary items

The car has the original wing mirrors and even the sun visors which were an extra, even the original clock works

There is a rack fitted, which I believe was factory fitted, and this is the better rack where if you put a case on, its sits lower down so you can see through the rear view mirror

TR Enterprises went through the car, with my instructions being, fix whatever needs fixing, and make the car run perfectly, which they have

Since being at TR Enterprises, I have also replaced the troublesome ignition control module with a brand new one, these are very hard to find now, so the car is now set up for the next few years

The colour is the original green and gold, and the paintwork has only recently been sorted, so the car is beautiful

All 5 wheels have been refurbished, fitted with new centre caps and new Panther badges, and all 5 tyres are new

The original tools are with the car, jack etc. all in the original  bag

There is the original beige hood bag, shown in one photo, and the care original beige hood is in perfect order, fits well, and the colour really suit the car, the hood rear windows are pretty well unscratched, and in super order

Overall the car is ready for the summer

So what is a Panther Kallista Roadster? Please google it, it's an engagingly interesting story!
This remarkable, beautiful, exhilaratingly robust, aluminium bodied, extremely rare (this one is number 61 of only 1300 ever made - of which only three were exported to Australia), classic collectable, which was hand crafted by the Panther Car Company limited UK as an open - top two seat sports cruiser with a long bonnet and mesh grill and wide running boards sweeping up to huge front fenders. It's powered by a feisty 2.8 litre V6 Ford Granada engine which thrusts its power through a snappy five speed manual gearbox into a Granada Capri rear axle.

Additional features include Cortina front end axles, chrome wire wheels, walnut dashboard and door capping and rear mounted spare wheel.

Designed and built as a tribute to the 1930's period of truly admirable and much desired roadsters, the owner of the company, Robert Jankell, began his company in 1972 and produced several sought after classic collectables including the Panther Deville, which was based on the 1927 Bugatti Royale and was featured in the Disney animation '101 Dalmatians' as Cruella DeVill’s vehicle of choice!

So this very rare treasure has documented prevenance of three long term previous owners and service history and has only travelled a mere 68900 since being delivered new in 1983. Due to the rarity of this vehicle, a comparative price analysis can only be indicative and so sensible offers will be considered. 1976 Panther Deville   One of the World’s Finest DeVilles

I have owned this car for 5 years, and have spent a great deal of money making her breath takingly beautiful. I have many cars, and simply never use the car
The car creates a crowd wherever she goes, people hang out of their car windows to take photos, as the colour combination is beautiful, and the only DeVille in the world in these colours
Over the past 5 years, I would estimate I have driven the car around 200 miles

1977 Panther J72, LHD, 4.2L, 4 speed w/ od, metallic sunset (burgundy) / tan.

Original owner, 10k documented miles, all original car with matching numbers, never restored (no accidents, no body work, original paint, original interior, original leather, original carpets, original exhaust/catalytic converter, original top, side curtains, tonneau, etc.).  US delivery car with US emissions equipment.  The only modifications done to the car include the installation of a radio in the glove box (installed when the car was new, so period correct), the addition of wing lights and mirrors (correct Jaguar manufacture), and wire mesh screens added to the headlights.  There are some small flaws in the paint as would be expected in a 40+ year old car that has been used and driven — but it is in excellent condition overall. The car has been shown at multiple shows and has won several awards.

Recent full service including engine tune, replacement of all fluids and filters, complete brake system overhaul (including rebuilding of the booster, master and slaves, wheel cylinders, etc).  To my knowledge everything works on the car, and when driven it is quick and responsive.  Period magazine tests state 0-60 in 6.6 seconds. 

The J72 was hand-built by Panther Westwinds in England, with an all aluminum body modeled after the Jaguar SS100 with Jaguar drivetrain, steering, brakes, etc.  This car has the jaguar inline-6 4.2 liter engine with twin carburetors (190hp) and a jaguar 4speed manual with overdrive.  Original US spec catalytic converter and other smog equipment has always been installed and never tampered with.

Kallista 1.6 1983

Ideal starter classic – something different on the outside with Ford mechanicals underneath.  This Kallista is an early model 2-seater aluminium body, British made, small volume classic in the original Innocenti Red. She spent her early life in Cheshire & Dorset, followed by a year in Northern Ireland and has been in Yorkshire since Nov 2016. Has now enjoyed 112k miles; though only managed 6000 miles since 2001.

Panther collaborated with Ford to fit the Escort XR3 engine (1597cc CVH Carb 94bhp), Sierra 5 speed gearbox driveshaft and Capri rear axle, this means that it is a special car but doesn’t need a specialist garage to maintain (Ford parts readily available). Very similar to a Morgan 4/4 of the same era at 1/3rd of the cost.  The Panther Car Club gives great technical and moral support and various Club activities.

The original Panther sales car order form shows the following optional extras: Alloy wheels, leather seats, chrome luggage rack, clock, headrests, radio, speaker and aerial.

Under my ownership, the following has been undertaken:

Original Panther rims shot-blasted / powder-coated with 5 new Nexen tyres (500 miles)

Cam belt (2k miles), cooling hoses, Speedo cable,

At some point in history, a new weber carb and K&N air filter replaced the original Ford fit.

The Kallista needs no work to be driven immediately and I would now happily travel the length of the country.  The body, chassis and mechanicals are sound. The paint is as bright as original; I’ve been quoted £400 to sort out the age related spots, but held off as I could not decide whether to go the whole way for a full respray /renovation. The original fit hood gets infrequent use; like most roofs of this era, it keeps out most of the weather but is 38-year-old vinyl.

1983 Panther Kallista 2.8i “Blue”

Panther Kallista 2.9i – Registration Number 84 NVX

This is a very special Panther as it was of an enhanced specification 2.9i used by the company as their ‘show car’ at Earls Court in 1989.

Specially finished in Rolls-Royce Windsor Blue Metallic with full magnolia and blue leather interior (piped with blue) it has a walnut dashboard and door cappings, tinted glass and the added distinction of having covered less than 9,300 miles from new.

My task was to totally recommission this beautiful roadster because the previous owner had only covered 86 miles in the car during the last 10 years of his ownership.  

The Panther Kallista was offered with four engine configurations: 1.6, 2.8, 2.8i Fuel Injection and lastly a small number of 2.9i Fuel Injection models. This particular Kallista is of the latter specification with five speed manual transmission.

As with all the later Panthers, this 2.9 Fuel Injection model was hand-built using the finest materials at the company’s new location in Harlow, Essex. I believe this is an exceptionally nice example and one that will hopefully interest classic car lovers as well as those looking to own an iconic motor car that will do very much more than just ‘hold its value’ in the years ahead.

Millie the Rio is For Sale

She is a normal Rio, so has the conventional Dolomite engine, and is the 3rd from last car built
I have had a lot of work done on the car, and I would say she is about 65% done
The car when I got her was blue, and I have had her put back to the colour she was new, but with a white painted roof instead of a black vinyl one, so she looks more up to date
The external bodywork has all been done, as can be seen in the photos, and she looks great
What is left to do is she needs a replacement chassis leg, the interior wants tidying, and the engine a service
I have had the base of the rear seat recovered in leather, so its more a case of little things than major things like recover the seats
Mille as she is known is very well known, and has a large history file to go with her

1987 Panther Kallista 2.8i “Brooklands Special Edition”

Only 28 of this “Special Edition” are recorded to have built during 1987 and therefore have become a very desirable and collectable car in the following years. This car is one of only 10 recorded to exist from the original 28 manufactured in 1987 and therefore is a significant model in the history of Panther Cars. The Panther Car Club records 9 in the UK and 1 in France. The car also has a completed Panther Car Club Heritage Certificate. The car can be seen regularly at Car Show Events and was selected to represent The Panther Club at The NEC Classic Car Show last year in November.

The cars interior veneers, leather and carpets were refurbished throughout and the hoods colour and proofing was completed. The J72 was the first model produced by Panther Westwards and was built in their Brooklands factory. Loosely styled on the Art Deco period Jaguar SS100 using the Jaguar XK series straight six engines & gearboxes supplied direct from the Jaguar factory.
The J72 was produced from 1972 to 1986 with 368 being produced. The bodies were hand built in aluminium by British craftsmen. The car won several awards and was purchased by celebrities and other "high rollers" of the period.
For sale on behalf of our client this 1981 registered car is one of the last produced before Panther Westwinds went into liguidation and has covered only 9,100 recorded miles from new. It has a 4.2 straight six Jaguar engine & manual gearbox fitted with overdrive and is finished in Silver with hand painted coach lines and contrasting black leather interior.
We have looked after this immaculate J72 in de-humidified storage on behalf of our client since 2015 immediately after the car’s full ground up bare metal re-spray in the original silver with hand painted coach lines. The original paintwork having dulled over the years. A complete photographic record of the re-spray is included with the car.

1988 Panther Kallista 2.8L V6
This eye-catching Ivory Kallista has turned more heads than any Porsche or Ferrari.
MOT until October 2017, Tax to the end of October 2017 and low mileage with 57,000 miles on the clock.
Regularly serviced, great handling giving a smooth comfortable ride. If you have never driven one, this 2.8L V6 under an alloy body will give all the excitement and thrills one could wish for in this amazing car. The alloy bodywork is in excellent condition and has just under gone a complete respray.
