The Darling Buds of May show takes place at Buzz Farm, Pluckley near Ashford in Kent where the TV series was filmed and is the only time the farm is open to the public. Pop Larkin’s yellow Rolls Royce made an appearance and around the farm house there were a few craft stalls and a small autojumble. There was an arena where cars were driven around and the owners gave a brief history of their pride and joy.
This year the show organizers had access to more fields so they had introduced a 1980’s zone which is why we could enter a club stand. I booked in 8 cars but only 6 turned up on the day 1 had dropped out in the week the other must have looked at the wet weather outside their house and not set out in the end we only had a few 5 minute showers at the show. While walking around the show I spotted a friend for IL Piccolo. (our mini Panther). While back on our stand we noticed a yellow and black Kallista arrive over on the other side of the field. So over I went with a club leaflet for them. As I approached I noticed that it was a French car part of a French classic car club that had bought over 20 different classic cars on a day trip. Many thanks to George, Tony, Bruce, Lou, Jim, Lin, Steve, Sharon and Bernard who attended the show
