Finch Foundry ( April 14th 2012 )

On what turned out to be a windy and cold day 9 Panthers came along to the National Trust’s Finch foundry. We met in the ‘Little Chef’ at Sourton Cross for a coffee or a hot chocolate. We then convoyed to the foundry en mass - much to the consternation of the warden’s staff.
There were demonstrations hourly of how the foundry worked – its main product being hand tools for the farming industry.
Lunch was taken by many in the ‘Taw River Inn’ and a chance to warm up.
The members present in Kallistas were – Dave and Sue Bastard 2.9i, Geoff and Sue Booth 2.8, Clive Critcher 2.9i, Ray and Julia Dowd 2.0, Andy and Jacob Graves 2.8, George and Tony Ansell 2.9i, Dave and Kim Babonau 2.8, , Colin Hampson 2.8, and John Edwards 2.3 in his Lima 1.
