This year there is going to be an indoor Classic Car Show in Event City, Trafford Centre, Manchester. It is an exhibition hall about the size of a couple of the NEC halls. There will be about 500 cars on show, with over 80 clubs exhibiting. We are entering a stand and plan to have 4 cars, one of each main Panther type.

It will be on Saturday 6 April 9am-6pm and Sunday 7 April 9am-4.30pm. Show website http://www.cheshireautopromotions.co.uk/indoor.php

Day tickets are normally £12, but if we order in advance they are £6 for Club Members.  If you would like a ticket at £6 please let me know by mid March and I will order them and you can then pay the Club

Gawsworth Hall Classic Car Show

We will have a stand at the Gawsworth Hall Classic Car Show in Gawsworth near Macclesfield (SK11 9RN) on Bank Monday 6th May.  The show will open from 10am, let Andy Stobbie

Deal Classic Car & Motor Show
3 Panther have booked into this Classic Car show at the Kent town of Deal. The show takes place on the idyllic Walmer Green overlooking the sea in Deal on Saturday 25th May. Bromley Pageant of Motoring

I have once again booked a special club display stand which enables us to show 15 cars at the show in Norman Park.

The Bromley Pageant of Motoring show is divided in to many areas including club stands, autojumble, arena events, military vehicles, motorcycles and the popular one make parking. In all there are over 3000 vehicles on display. Once again we will have the tea tent in action. At 1.00pm we will be having the popular bring a dish buffet lunch all together.

Fly Drive Sunday June 30th 2013 Ashford, Kent.

I have booked a club stand at this different style of Classic Car Show, which is combining Planes and Classic Cars. You will be able to look around the classic cars on display along with aeroplanes and gliders on the ground. Also watch the air displays and explore the side stalls or visit the café. Purchase a flying voucher for a flight in a glider at an extra provisional cost of £25. The air show and glider trips are subject to the weather. This show is raising money for the Kent Air Ambulance and is being put on by the Kent Gliding Club and the Maidstone MG Owners Club, and will be held at the Kent Gliding Club in Ashford, Kent.

Grand Gathering 2013 Silverstone Classic

As discussed at the last AGM the 2013 Grand Gathering will be held at Silverstone Classic on the 26th 27th & 28th July 2013.
Discounted tickets for club members are now on sale using the code published in the last magazine. This 3 day event is very worth a visit and I am sure it will bring back many motoring memories to past Formula 1 fans. We will be displaying in the inner circle of the track and will have a hospitality tent available.
Hotel details will be available soon but its important you book your passes now or by the 31st March when the discount for clubs stops. Hopefully you will be able to do the three days but if not Saturday will be when we hope everyone will attend .
After last year’s success at Brooklands we felt it was time to try something a little different. Your committee will be going all out to make this a great 3 day event. For those who have visited the Nurburgring in the past with the club you will understand just what great fun the Formula 1 Classic is. It brings back many memories and to see past racing cars now history out on the track is amazing.

PANTHER CAR CLUB LOCATED IN BLUE ZONE 9 ON THE INNER CIRCUIT
Our Grand Gathering at the Silverstone Classic is drawing near and some of you have by now received your tickets, those who have not do not worry they are on their way to you. Many of you have booked into the hotel at BRANDON HALL HOTEL & SPA others are camping and some are staying onsite or close by. Transport will run to and from the hotel as follows Friday evening from Silverstone, Saturday from Hotel and return and finally Sunday morning to the event. The cost for each journey taken will be at the low cost of £7.50p per trip.  Please note it is possible to arrive and leave event whenever one wishes which was a concern to some for the Sunday. If you would like to book the coach transport and have not received a form please contact Petra or myself.  Free parking is available at Silverstone in all public car parks if you do not have an inner circuit pass but we hope you will all use the coach facility, times of travel will be fixed nearer the time when we know a little more about the weather to expect as this will I am sure make a difference and set the scene for the weekend but every effort will be made to.

BBC Radio 2 Carfest

Hi All
Any one interested in attending the BBC Radio 2 Carfest North (The one organized by Criss Evans).

It's not just about cars, there's music, food, an auction plus much more, a really good weekend if last year was anything to go by.  

Most of the regular tickets are sold out but at the moment there are some car club pitches (for up to seven cars) still available. As the entire pitch has to be paid for, it will probably cost about £100 per car that's for 1 car + 2 adults for the 3 day event. So the final price will depend on the number of cars that want to attend. The 2 passes are worth £105 each.

It is a camping weekend and there will be an additional fee of £25 per night for tents. I also made enquires as to weather the display cars can be taken out at night as some local people might like to go home or maybe others stay in a B&B, they said that this shouldn't be a problem if the cars were back in place by opening times the following day.  

If any one is interested can you let me know ASAP as I don't know how quick the limited pitches will be taken up. Obviously if more than 7 cars wish to attend it will be on a first come first serve basis.

Castle Hill in North Devon
The Castle Hill Car Festival will be staged within the magnificent parkland grounds of Castle Hill, the home of The Earl and Countess of Arran at Filleigh, in North Devon. The festival will play host to over 1,000 historic and classic vehicles and over 10,000 visitors during the weekend event.

Stafford Castle Classic Car Show
Many of you will remember attending last year's Stafford Castle Classic Car Show when we receiving a very warm welcome from Mark Hartwell and his team of event organisers. As a bonus, the day culminated in Terry Borton winning 'The Modern Classic Car of the Show ' award!! 
Well, this was such a good show and I want to support this event again this year and would just like to know if any other members would be able to come along on the 4th of August.

Forthcoming Event in Shropshire.
Attingham Park ‘Run & Show’- Sunday 11th August

One of the main events planned this year for Area 8, Midshires is the Attingham Park Classic Car Show in support of the local Severn Hospice.
Last year saw just one Panther at this prestigious event but for this year’s August 11th gathering we already have a collection of twelve Panthers firmly committed to attend.
As you will see from the photograph attached to the pre-show announcement, Mike Avery’s Kallista took centre stage and he seems very pleased indeed to be able to offer the young lady the use of his running board for the photo-shoot!!
The other vehicles used that day by the organisers included a rare 1956 Jaguar XK140 and a GMT Spyder. Both will join the 200+ classics taking part in the rally through the Shropshire Hills before finally lining up on the lawns outside The National Trust’s beautiful Attingham House.

JOIN US FOR DRIVE YOUR CLASSIC TO WORK WEEK

Join us for a week-long celebration of motoring this September as Heritage Classic Car Insurance and Classic Car Weekly magazine invite you and your club to get involved in this year’s ‘Drive Your Classic To Work Week’.

The week will kick off at the Beaulieu International Autojumble on 7th and 8th September before the working week starts. It will finish with Goodwood Revival on the 13th, 14th and 15th September.

Chris Wilkinson, Senior Partner of Heritage, explains: “This initiative is about maximising the last of the summer season and helping people use their classics to the full, prior to the onset of the autumn. These cars are meant for the road, not the garage, so it’s a great way for owners, and fellow motorists, to enjoy these classics in action.”

Classic Car Weekly editor Dave Richards added: “We want classic car clubs to join with us in this national celebration of the classics we love, and get their car on the commute, the school run and their trips to the shops! The classic movement is stronger when we join forces!”

Trip to the Picos de Europa

Start and finish in Plymouth. 

We travel out on Sunday 22 September from Plymouth to Santander and return from Santander to Plymouth on Wednesday 2nd October, with the two hotels in between - The Hotel Del Oso in Potes-Cosgaya in the Picos de Europa for 4 nights and the Hotel Juan II in Toro for 5 nights.
The journey through France will be in another trip, maybe next year.

The Spanish trip now has 6 Panthers booked in. There is room for one or two more if you’re quick.

The cost will be £1383.00 for two people+car+Ferry fare+cabin upgrades+ B&B in ***hotels.

AGM weekend Pre Christmas Social

The AGM will be on the 3rd. We are going to have a pre Christmas Social in or near Cirencester on the Saturday. Hotel details will follow as soon as we have the hotel confirmation. Cirencester is a lovely town and Swindon Outlet center is nearby so ideal for a pre Christmas visit.  We anticipate having a social dinner on the Saturday evening and AGM Sunday morning.
