NEC Classic Car Show 2007
The NEC Classic car show 9th – 11th November.
Brought together enthusiasts with a passion for cars, whatever passion.. vintage, sporting classics, retro’s and supercars. Alongside, there was much to do and buy from auto jumble and tool supplies to diecast models and literature.
It was an impressive display of such a wide range of cars from the Heinkel
to the Pagani Zonda and
from iconic classics from the TV such as the 1974 Ford Cortina featured in the hit TV series Life on Mars.
The enthusiast clubs from manufacturers past and present filled four exhibition halls, complemented by restorers and replica car builders.
Auto-sport models ranged from Fangio’s Maserati
to historic Bentleys, then Bugattis
past and present.
I was on the Panther stand with my 1978 Lima,
alongside the 5.3 litre V12 jaguar powered J72
and the spectacular two Panther Devilles.
The Kallista, 2.8l Ford powered Panther completed the display.
I had not been to a show this size before, but enjoyed digging through the Auto-jumble and literature as well as reading all the info boards, taking many photos of such a diverse collection.
There were many cars I couldn’t recognise such as the Borgward,
the Metropolitan, and many more
A great show as an exhibitor or as a visitor, as the ticket gave access to both the classics show and the MPH show, which exhibited all the super cars.
