Bromley 2006

BROMLEY PAGEANT OF MOTORING 2006 SUNDAY 25th JUNE

We had another special display area at this year’s Bromley Pageant of Motoring where we put on a display of
5 Mk 2 Limas,
7 Kallistas and
1 J72.
I had worked out a parking plan to go with the 30 year theme, but when I went over on the Saturday night to set up. I found the area was smaller than last year and I had to revise the plan. There was only one way that the cars could fit and that was in two rows. The first person to arrive (only just, I was right behind him) on the Sunday was Mark who had come over from Belgium for the day.

Jim had made up a sign for 30 years of the Lima and 4 Panther plinths which were decorated with flowers by Terry. While Jim was putting those together the rest of the display was set out. I would like to thank everyone for their hard work in putting on the display.

After the bacon rolls we all took turns in going off to look around the show and autojumble, there was plenty to see. In the one make parking area we found 3 further Kallistas parked up and made contact with two of the owners, one of the Kallistas was looking “pretty in pink”, a colour that some members had not seen before. Believed to be a Coca Cola competition car?
