Sandwell 2009

The second event on the Midshires calendar.Once again blessed with sunshine if a little windy we set off for Sandwell. Most of the others where already there and getting set up when we arrived.

Sandwell 2009

Followed quickly by Stuart Whalley and family with not one Kallista but two.The new one only having been purchased the day before which with help from Terry Borton had been cleaned and polished to be able to come to the show. The cry was poor farmers to which Stuarts reply was he had to keep the number of panthers up for the Lichfield cars in the park show as some of the midshires where defecting to the Ireland trip. A likely tail.
The day continued and Russell in his usual summer shorts took his dad Colin off to the auto jumble. The only purchase of the day seemed to be a engine stand which had to be taken apart to fit into the car.

Time for a picnic lunch washed down with a glass or two of wine only for the none drivers of course .Thanks to all who supplied the goodies. Refreshed by lunch some went off to have another look round the rest chatted away until a young lady appeared from the Birmingham Mail with a video camera wanting to do interviews, first on camera was Kiser Eric von Allen, With his J72 and his helmet. Sorry Eric it really suits you. Next was Colin with his Jasper Carrot impersonation and finally Terry who looks more like him. The film was on the Birmingham Mail web site for a few days but don’t give up the day job boys.
Nearly time to go home but as the attendance plaques would not be given till after the trophy presentation we decided to pack up ready for a swift exit. In all we had five Kallista two Lima and one J72 thanks to Terry Mav Eric Chris Russ Stuart and family, Richard Shirley, Malcolm and us Colin and Di. At last the trophies presentation was over . Sorry to say we did not win the club stand, as usual it went to the Jensen . Ah well always next year.
Thanks to all for another jolly good Panther day out.

Di and Colin Rawlins.
