For those of you with Sat Nav, The Kimbolton School post code is PE28 0EA. If past history is a guide the entrance will be manned from 07:30am for the very keen!
Over the past few years the charity organizers have introduced a fixed price entry of £5 per car for participating clubs. However, this year the charge has been raised to £8 which I am sure you all will agree is not expensive for what has always been a wonderful day out, with the entire entry fee going to charity.
Kimbolton can best be described as a village fete with cars in a beautiful setting. There are many attractions. Hog roasts, craft fair in the magnificent Kimbolton School building (hide your credit cards gentlemen), beer tents, and various displays in the main arena as well. For those who fancy a ride in some form of exotica other than their Panther there will also be the Sporting Bears Dream Rides. For a donation to charity you can be taken for a ride in one of a selection of wonderful cars.
If you would like to come this year, please contact me including your name and address, preferably by email on nigelplunkett-at-sky.com or failing that telephone 01865 463133 . I will be asking the Bears for 40 tickets again this year as that number seemed to work out well last year.
A Happy New Year to all Pantherists, and Mary and I are looking forward to seeing you at Kimbolton 2011.

PCC Grand Gathering 2011

Grand Gathering 2011, Crich Tramway Village, Crich, Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 5DP
The Tram Museum
The 2011 Grand Gathering will be held at the Crich Tramway Village in Derbyshire. Commencing at 10.00am There is plenty to do once you arrive at Tramway. There will be an area set aside for Panthers where refreshments (contributions of cakes savouries etc will be gladly received) regalia and Bruno’s spares will be available. The cars will also be displayed throughout the village and weather permitting we will do a special parade around the village. A special entry fee has been negotiated into the village and signs will be displayed showing exactly where we are. A ride on one of the old Trams is a must. The collection of Trams is truly amazing and they are all in excellent condition and with the museums, oldie worldly tea rooms, pub, country walks and a private area just for the Panther club it has all the ingredients for a really great event.
Those wishing to stay over for the weekend or just Saturday our chosen hotel is the Casa Hotel in Chesterfield. This newly built hotel has a Spanish Theme offering very modern and comfortable rooms and a warm welcome. There is ample parking with CCTV and an area will be cordoned off for us. The owner himself is a Modern Classic Car enthusiast and has offered to bring some of his cars to the Hotel on Sunday morning after the AGM. Contact Petra on Tel: +44 (0)20 7510 2929 Fax: +44 (0)20 7538 8239 E-Mail: phowes@ictsqt.co.uk. she will be pleased to help you with your booking The hotel has offered us a new innovation in BBQ s for the Friday evening as private dining and weather permitting will be held on the private terrace or inside if necessary. Food will be served throughout the evening so no problems if you are unable to arrive until late. Saturday evening’s dinner dance will be held in there beautiful functions room which leads out onto the terrace and drinks before dinner will be served in our private bar.
Dress code is formal where posh frocks and black tie would set the scene but lounge suits would still leave us all looking real dapper!!! So the choice is yours and of course your dancing shoes to dance the night away with the return by popular request of last year’s vocalist & entertainer Glen Cooper. There will be a raffle run throughout the event and donation of prizes will be well received, thanks in advance.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further information at this time.

The two shows are on Saturday the 17th September at Newport Quay and Sunday the 18th at Ryde seafront. This show is well attended by many car clubs and is one of the biggest displays of different model cars, including custom cars and bikes the club attends. Our accommodation once again is at Buntshill Barns Porchfield where our host Ken Shynn accommodates us splendidly allowing us to use a barn to put our cars at night. The accommodation is self catering converted Barns with each bedroom having its own bathroom. To allow us to relax in the evenings and not worry about driving and finding suitable parking for the cars we have over the past few years dined in, having meals together in the larger of the Barns where we all contribute and produce our own specialties.!!!!! This has been a huge success over the years and made the whole visit good fun. The local Pub which is walking distance across the fields from the Barns is an alternative and is very enjoyable.
