Recovery Weekend
The Feathers is internationally recognised for its beautiful Jacobean architecture and medieval heritage. Situated at the heart of the ancient market town of Ludlow, there are excellent craft and antique shops and a wealth of historic buildings all within easy walking distance. Being so central, The Feathers has for centuries been an important meeting point for the community and visitors alike.
Ludlow is often called the ‘perfect historic town’. Situated on the River Teme in the outstanding countryside of the Welsh Marshes, its medieval street pattern survives almost intact, along with many ancient properties, including a magnificent ruined castle and one of the largest parish churches in England.

I have reserved a number of rooms, the rates of which are £120.00 per room per night for double occupancy on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, single occupancy £65.00. On Friday and Saturday evenings, as a group, we will dine privately in the Prince Charles Suite at 8pm. Breakfast will be between 8.00 and 10.30am in the Housman restaurant.

Area 2 Spring Weekend
For the last few years, I have organized a spring weekend in the north of England – mainly for members in Area 2 – but we have been pleased to have had the company of friends from around the country.
For the last two years, we stayed at a hotel near Ambleside, and I thought we ought to have a change of location for 2007. We haven’t been to North Yorkshire with the cars for many years. The countryside is ready made Panther terrain and there are some good places to visit too, so I have made a booking at The Blue Lion at East Witton near Leyburn for Friday April 20th and Saturday April 21st which is two weeks after Easter.
The inn has 15 rooms and I have asked for all to be kept for the club. It is an inn and a pub not a hotel, so there are bars and not sitting rooms. On the recce we got a welcoming reception and they seemed pleased to have us stay. The rooms vary in size and price.Two are small.
All clean and comfortable with flat screen TVs, en-suite, and tea/coffee makings. Six rooms are in the main house the others around the courtyard. Large secure car park at the back.
The prices are for the room and full English breakfast per night............

We will be having a stand at Gawsworth Hall Classic Car Rally, near Macclesfield on Monday May 7th (May Day Bank Holiday).
Includes static display and autojumble. This will be a joint display between Areas 2 & 10.
Space has been reserved for 12 cars, an excellent show to start the season.

Brooklands Centenary Event

FREE ENTRY TO EXIBITING PANTHERS
Wanted 'Stunning examples' of Panther Brooklands/Byfleet built cars. to join the Centenary event for display, parade and general involvement. It should be noted that nearly all the other cars at the event will be old historic cars with some racing connection to Brooklands. Go to brooklands100 for some general info about the event it is a bit limited at present but I suspect there will be more info to come.
The event is over 2 days, June 16 and 17th. All exhibiting cars to be present from 8am in the morning until 6pm in the evening - it is a condition of entry. Each car can bring a driver and partner/friend and entry is free. General public entry is £35 per person!!
I am happy to do the coordination with the Museum. Information needed........

Lazy Weekend at Herne Bay

7 Thornden Wood Road Herne Bay Kent CT6 7RY At end of M2 carry straight on to A299 Take the Herne Bay turn off (approx 10 miles) At roundabout take first exit At next roundabout take second exit into Greenhill Road (West) Follow road past shops on right, Briary school on left keep going a right hand bend then a sharp left into Thornden Wood Road last house on left (300 yards) hedges both sides of a shingle drive.
George and Tony invite all members to join them at there home in Herne Bay the weekend of the 28th – 29th July. Come for the day or make a weekend of it, facilities to pitch a tent or stay in local accommodation are available.
Numerous activities are planned with a dip in the pool an option if you need to cool off. Already proving a very popular event, so if you have plans to attend please drop an email or ring George and Tony on 01227 374080 or email tony.ansell@lineone.net giving name and details of when you are hoping to come and if you need accommodation.
All are welcome with good food, fine wine (beer) and of course good company being high on the agenda. Further details to follow.
Following on to the above, local accommodation can be found at the near by Travel Inn or alternatively ring George or Tony for other onsite facilities that may accommodate your requirements. It is anticipated this be a fun relaxing weekend where one can either relax around the pool with the option of maybe taking part in one or two out -door activities or test the brain with a quiz. Alternatively go off and enjoy local attractions of which information will be available either on the day or can be obtained in advance from G or T. Then come back and enjoy the company of other Pantherists when ample refreshments will be available.
We look forward to seeing you. Advance warning of your attendance would be appreciated to accommodate numbers for catering etc but if you decide on the day just come along and receive a warm welcome.

2nd Annual Wroughton Classic Car Show.

Our club will have a prominent stand again and will be located with the Jaguar and Challenger clubs with bags of space. A6 Classic Car Run

Tame Valley Classic Car Club are having an A6 Classic Car Run on August 5th. They have about 150 cars entering, the more the merrier. They will be raising money for the Childrens Adventure Farm Trust based in Millington in Cheshire (near Knutsford).
The run will start in Manchester at approx 10.00 and will stop at Macclesfield for a Civic Reception before heading out to Tatton Park in Cheshire to pick up the Mayor of Tatton, finally on to the Adventure Farm at Millington where there will be live music and a barbecue for everyone.

I.O.W Classic Car Show
The International Isle of Wight Classic Car Show will take place the weekend of the 15th + 16th September at Newport Quay and Ryde respectively.
Crossings are curtsey of Wight Link Ferries and travel can take place between 14th-19th September excluding Monday the 17th. Accommodation is booked once again at Buzzard Barns Porchfield and all rooms are ensuite.

Area 5 Christmas Meal

This year we will be having our Christmas meal at 7.30pm for 8.00pm on 19th December which is our regular 3rd Wednesday of the month meeting at the Black Horse in Bean.
I have booked a table for us at a provisional cost of £15.95 per person. The pub laid on a very good 3 course meal for us last year.
