Brands Hatch June 2008
What a hectic start the day had for us. 8.40am left home and on the way to Brands we had to go and have a test drive in a Corsa for my daughter to learn to drive in which we bought. Then as soon as we got on to the M25 it came to a stop as a Volvo had caught fire. Luckily 15mins later we were on our way again the traffic ahead of us had gone, so we had a clear run into Brands arriving at 9.45am to find 8 Panthers in a line already parked up. 10 minutes later Jim arrived after being sent to the wrong part of the circuit by the marshals, to complete the 10 car line up.

Some of us purchased seats in the Paddock Hill Grandstand and watched the racing from there. While others watched from other parts of the circuit. The racing was very good and varied. The pits and paddocks were open for a general walkabout enabling everyone to get up close to the racing cars. The main race of the day was the historic F1 and it was nice to see the John Player Lotus and the 6 wheel Tyrell which gave inspiration for the Panther P6. The classic salons gave the most excitement with a few spinning off at paddock and very close racing. There was plenty to see around the circuit with all the Classic Cars on display, I even found a car that I had not heard of before a Sherpley.
I would like to thank everyone for coming and hope they enjoyed the day. Attendees were: - Marc & Mathew (all the way from Belgium), John & Jackie, Bruce & Lou. Martin & Teresa, Steve & Sharon, John & Pam, Jim & Lyn, Bernard, Steve & Graham, Geoff & Roz.
